Hi,
I have had an HP Deskjet 3630 for many years now with no issue. Recently I decided to keep my printer at work instead of home. I chose this because I really only have to print work related things. This could be a "contact IT at my work" problem but I wanted to check here first. I want to continue using my printer wirelessly at work like I did at home but no matter what I do my printer says "disconnected" and on the HP smart app it won't detect my device at all. I don't know how to connect this device with my work WIFI as it is shared and I do not have access to the router. I have tried all the setup steps recommended by HP and they did not work. It was so easy at home but now I just can't get it to connect even though I know the password. I can still connect via USB but that is all. Also I have to press the "resume" button every time I send a document to my printer, this rarely was the case at home. Connecting my printer wirelessly is important to me because I subscribe to Instant ink and it does not detect my ink levels or my pages properly due to this. If anyone has possible solutions/suggestions further than that which can be found on HP's website I would greatly appreciate it

Hi @kaylee96,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration with trying to connect your HP Deskjet 3630 wirelessly at work. There are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
Check Wi-Fi Network: Ensure that your work Wi-Fi network is working correctly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.
Wi-Fi Password: Make sure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password for your work network. Double-check for any typos.
Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that your printer is within the range of the Wi-Fi signal. If it's too far from the router, it may have trouble maintaining a stable connection.
Printer Status: Check if there are any error messages or issues displayed on the printer itself. If there are, resolve them first.
Reset Network Settings: You can try resetting the network settings on your printer. Here's how:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time.
- The Wireless and Power lights should start blinking. This indicates that the network settings have been reset.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:
- On your computer, go to the Wi-Fi settings and forget the network you're trying to connect the printer to.
- Then, on the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless menu and select your work Wi-Fi network. Enter the correct password when prompted.
HP Smart App: If the HP Smart app still can't detect your device, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Also, ensure that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer.
Printer Driver: Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. You can download and install it from the HP website.
Network Permissions: If you don't have access to the router at work, there may be certain network restrictions or security settings that are preventing your printer from connecting. In this case, you may need to contact your IT department or network administrator for assistance.
USB Connection: The need to press the "resume" button every time you send a document could be related to a configuration issue. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver and ensure that it's set as the default printer.
If you've tried these steps and are still unable to connect your printer wirelessly at work, it may be necessary to involve your IT department or network administrator, as there could be specific network settings or security configurations that are preventing the printer from connecting. They should be able to assist you in resolving the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
