I recently changed internet services to xfinity and cancelled my old internet. Now I have tried several times to install my printer to the new wifi but when I try to print, the message comes up, printer is offline. Please help as I need to print. Thanks

Hi @DonnaJeanR1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer connectivity issues with your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure the printer is Connected to the correct network.
- Make sure the printer is connected to your new Wi-Fi network.
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings and choose your Xfinity network from the list. Enter the password if prompted.
Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer, your computer, and the router.
- Wait for about a minute, then power on the router first, followed by the printer and your computer.
Print Connection Report
- From the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Print Wireless Network Test.
- Print a test report to check the status of the network connection. This will give recommendations if there are any issues.
Update IP Address Settings (Fixing DHCP Issues)
When the network changes, the IP address of the printer may also change. Ensure you update the IP address settings:
- Print the Network Configuration Page from the control panel (tap Settings > Print Wireless Network Test).
- Check the IP address and update it according to the new network settings in your printer driver settings on your computer:
- Open the printer properties by going to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Properties.
- Go to the Ports tab and click Configure Port.
- Enter the updated IP address in the Printer name or IP address field.
Check Firewall Settings
Sometimes, firewall software can block the connectivity between your printer and computer.
- Temporarily disable the firewall on your computer and try printing.
- If you can print when the firewall is off, reconfigure the firewall settings to allow communication with your printer.
Verify Printer Status
- Ensure the printer is not paused or set to offline:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer icon and select See what’s printing.
- In the front menu, make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.
I hope this helps.
