Hi @Danimm1987,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’ve been dealing with a frustrating issue! Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the connectivity problems with your HP DeskJet 2636.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Go to the HP website and download the latest firmware for your DeskJet 2636. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct WiFi network and that the network settings are correct.
  • Check if your router has any settings related to security or bandwidth that could be causing interference.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer, navigate to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings or similar options.
  • After resetting, reconnect the printer to your WiFi network.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer and reinstall it. Make sure to download the latest version from the HP website.
  • During installation, choose the wireless setup option and follow the prompts to reconnect your printer.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure that your router’s firmware is up to date.
  • Check if your router has any settings that might be interfering with the printer’s connection, like MAC address filtering.

Reduce Network Interference:

  • Move the printer closer to the router to see if that improves the connection.
  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference.

Assign a Static IP Address:

  • Assign a static IP address to your printer through the router’s settings. This can sometimes stabilize the connection.

Check Printer’s Wireless Status:

  • Print a network configuration page from your printer’s control panel to check the status of the wireless connection.

Test on Different Devices:

  • Try connecting and printing from different devices (e.g., another laptop or smartphone) to see if the issue is specific to one device or general.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Yeah, I have checked on other devices. For my HP laptop I have to disconnect from wifi and only connect to the printer it was frustrating but it worked but now that stopped. I tried it on my tablet and then on my phone. I uninstalled reinstalled trouble shooted. Unplugged everything and the printer is the only thing in the house having issues I was hoping it was something I hadn't tried.
