My HP 9015 printer was working fine on my wireless network and then I had no option to connect. I go to my network settings and a prompt comes up saying "An ethernet cable has not been detected. Make sure that both ends of cable are inserted correctly". I am not connected through ethernet and it will not give me an option to connect through wifi anymore.

Hi @jerome49
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining that—it's genuinely frustrating when a printer that was working fine suddenly drops its wireless connection and defaults to Ethernet.
This usually happens when the wireless function gets disabled internally, either due to a glitch or a firmware hiccup.
Let’s walk through a few steps to help restore your Wi-Fi option.
Steps to Re-enable Wireless on HP OfficeJet Pro 9015
1. Reset Network Settings
This will clear any corrupted configurations:
- On the printer’s control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard
- Tap the Setup (gear icon) > Network Setup
- Select Restore Network Settings
- Confirm the reset
Once done, restart the printer and check if the Wi-Fi option reappears.
2. Run Wireless Setup Wizard
If the Wi-Fi option is visible again:
- Go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings
- Tap Wireless Setup Wizard
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
3. Update Firmware
Outdated firmware can disable wireless functionality. You can update it here:
Download the latest firmware for Windows 11 and install it while the printer is powered on and connected via USB.
Let me know how it goes. If the Wi-Fi option still doesn’t return, we can dig deeper into service-level resets or alternate setup paths.
You're doing everything right—just need to nudge the printer back on track.
