I cant connection the printer to my app

If you are experiencing difficulties connecting your HP ENVY 6120e All-in-One Printer to the HP Smart app, follow these steps to troubleshoot and establish a connection:

 

  1. Ensure Network Connection:

    • Confirm that both your printer and the device running the HP Smart app (such as a smartphone or tablet) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Install the HP Smart App:

    • Download and install the HP Smart app from your device's app store.
  3. Enable Bluetooth and Location Services:

    • Enable Bluetooth on your device to allow the HP Smart app to detect the printer.
    • Ensure location services are active on your device, as the app may use them to find your printer.
  4. Add a New Printer in the HP Smart App:

    • Open the HP Smart app.
    • Tap on “Add Printer” or the plus icon (“+”) to search for available printers.
    • Follow the in-app instructions to add your HP ENVY 6120e printer.
  5. Printer Setup:

    • If your printer is new out of the box, make sure to complete the initial setup by installing ink cartridges and loading paper.
    • After installation, look for the printer display’s setup screen and follow prompts for Wi-Fi setup.
  6. Network Reset:

    • If the printer has trouble connecting, try resetting the network settings. Access the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings, and select “Restore Network Defaults.”
  7. Manually Add Printer Using IP Address:

    • Print a network configuration page from your printer to obtain the IP address.
    • Open the HP Smart app, click “Add Printer,” and enter the IP address manually to establish a connection.
  8. Ensure Printer's Wi-Fi Is On:

    • Confirm the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid, indicating a connection to the network. If it’s off or blinking, press the Wi-Fi button on the printer to reconnect.
