My printer continually disconnects and this time I can't get it to reconnect. I restarted the computer and printer multiple times, and I reset the wifi connection on the printer. The signal says excellent and confirmed a positive connection. What can I do?

I understand your HP ENVY 5000 printer connectivity issue. You’ve already done some solid checks, so let’s focus on a few deeper steps that usually resolve this.
Restore Network Settings on the Printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup (gear icon).
- Select “Network Setup” or “Wireless Settings.”
- Choose “Restore Network Settings” or “Restore Defaults.”
- Confirm the reset.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Reconnect Using the HP App
- Open the HP app on your computer.
- Click “+ Add Printer” or “Set up a new printer.”
- Select your HP ENVY 5000 from the list.
- Follow the on-screen steps to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop during setup (if prompted).
Assign a Manual IP Address
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.
- Note the current IP address.
- Open a browser and enter that IP address.
- Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration.
- Set the IP to “Manual” and assign an IP outside the router’s automatic range (for example: 192.168.1.200).
- Save the settings and restart the printer.
Update Printer Port on Laptop
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select “Printer properties.”
- Go to the “Ports” tab.
- Select “Add Port” > Standard TCP/IP Port.
- Enter the new manual IP address you assigned.
- Apply changes and try printing.
Reduce Network Interference
- Place the printer closer to the router.
- Avoid placing it near metal objects or microwaves.
- Connect both printer and laptop to the same band (preferably 2.4 GHz).
- Disable any VPN temporarily while printing.
- Restart the router after making these changes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
