Hi @Sholly3,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer is displaying a "Verifying" error message continuously,

here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the paper tray and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door and make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
  • Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure they are securely in place.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware if needed.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset. Go to the printer’s settings menu, select "Setup," then "Printer Maintenance," and choose "Restore." Follow the prompts to reset the printer to its factory settings.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables (USB or network) are securely connected.
  • If you're using a wireless connection, make sure the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
  • Download and install the latest version of the HP printer software from the HP website.
