Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Hello.  I am also reaching out regarding the customer service scamming issues.  I and my family member have also experienced this rude, almost bullying abuse when trying to get help to solve an HP Printer issue.  My experience is that it happens each and every time I call for help.  I believe on the board, HP gave the usual advice of being careful, don't give out info. etc...   My question is, how can one be assured that when calling the HP number posted, that they truly get an HP representative?  What is the company doing to assure it's customers aren't re-routed 90% of the time?  I really want to buy another HP Printer because I llike the Instant Ink deal and I like the product.   But, the risk of scammers and the sales pitch at the end when I have a need for customer support is a huge red flag to my buying HP any more.  Has HP been able to resolve this problem?

At this writing:

Any number for HP that you find on the Internet is not an HP Support number.

Pure and simple -

HP has not publicly posted phone numbers to HP Support in the USA and many other locations for a long time.

HP Support provides hardware support case submission for registered, in-Warranty products.

HP does not try to cajole, sneak, promise, or threaten you.

HP does not try to force their will on you to get into your computer.

HP does not tell you that your computer is full of bugs.

HP does not promise to fix your world if you would just give them your credit card number.

HP does not sell security software.

HP does not cold-call you on the phone and tell you, "Oh, dear!  Your computer is full of malware!"

The list goes on.

Scammers, on the other hand, will do anything at all to you.

Scammers are relentless and sneaky.

Scammers can be snarky and rude if you don't give them what they want.

Scammers will try to force their will on you.

Scammers want your personal information and they promise anything to get it.

Scammers want your credit card number.

Scammers want into your computer -- such treasure when you let them do that!

The list goes on.

Contact HP Support – Printer Support

HP Support – Hardware / Technical Support for Devices in Warranty

Registered Devices in Warranty:  Select a method and contact HP Support…

Open website  HP World-Wide Support

Select your region and follow the prompts

Regional Links

 USA / Canada >   HP® Customer Support - USA

 UK >  HP® Customer Support - UK

 ---------------------------------------------------

Reminders - READ

  • Case submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

  • Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online

  • Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.
  • HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.
  • If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

Important

  • HP Phone numbers you find on the Internet have likely been hijacked.  Old HP phone numbers – those numbers no longer used by HP since the move to “online” case submissions  – might have been taken over by thieves.
  • Do not be a victim.
  • Stay vigilant.

Out of Warranty?  What to do...

For those of us who are "Out of Warranty", submitting a case to HP is not an option.

Open your device Product Home  > Select Categories How-to and Troubleshooting to find help for common issues.

HP Support does not generally provide free service for out-of-warranty devices.

Our Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.

Reminder

When you submit your question to the Community,

Increase your chances of receiving an answer ---

  • Provide as much information as possible about the product, for example, the exact model of the device and the Operating System
  • Tell us what you have tried to fix the problem.
  • As best you can, describe the issue for which you are seeking our help.
