Hi @BruceHogman,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've replaced your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer and want to remove it from your HP account, you can follow these general steps. Please note that the steps may vary slightly depending on the specific HP account interface you are using.
Log In to Your HP Account:
- Go to the HP website and log in to your HP account using your credentials.
Access Your Account Dashboard:
- Navigate to your account dashboard or the section where your registered devices or printers are listed.
Locate the Printer:
- Find the HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer in the list of registered devices or printers.
Remove or Unregister the Printer:
- Look for an option to remove or unregister the printer. This might be labeled differently depending on the HP account interface. It could be "Remove," "Delete," or a similar term.
Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- Once you've selected the option to remove the printer, follow any on-screen instructions that appear. This may involve confirming the removal or providing additional details.
Check for Confirmation:
- After completing the removal process, check for a confirmation message or notification indicating that the printer has been successfully removed from your account.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Sorry. Done that on HP.COM successfully in an attempt to FIX HPSMART.COM web site that still has the issue of
MISSING DELETE OPTION
for a printer I no longer have.
Nice try. I've been through all of this, BUT
the HPSMART.COM web site and app has a problem with their cloud services apparently holding the data on the old printer AND the HPSMART software HAS NO DELETE OPTION for that old now missing printer.
FIX HPSMART.COM cloud services to scrub the old printer away.
Retired very senior HP professional here and it is bad feeling that NONE of the HP software folks today understand the issue and take my reports to heart that the HPSMART cloud services need fixing to
ADD OPTION TO DELETE MISSING PRINTER.
Thank you and good luck.

I was able to get a real person on phone call who understood to open an error report/discrepancy with HPSMART.COM cloud services and noted there is no control to DELETE old printers that were replaced by new printer.
Go through his chain-of-command/superior/official channels to report that HPSMART software has a bug in it.
Telling someone I'm a 4 decade HP software consultant may be the ticket.
I hope this works, as the current error is not user friendly and cannot be fixed. I've tried everything.
