Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That flashing blue Wi-Fi light usually means the printer is trying to connect but isn't successfully linking to the network. Here are some steps that might help:

Restart Everything

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then turn them back on.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 5 seconds to enter setup mode.
  • Use the HP Smart app on your phone or laptop to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

Check Router Settings

  • If your router has dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), ensure the printer is connecting to 2.4GHz, as your printers doesn't support 5GHz.
  • If both bands have the same name (SSID), try renaming one.

Run HP Network Diagnostics

  • Open the HP Smart app and use the Printer Setup & Software option to run the Network Diagnostics tool.

Check Printer’s IP Address

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.
  • If the printer doesn’t have an IP address, it isn’t connected to the network.

Update Printer Firmware

  • If possible, connect the printer via USB and use HP Smart or HP Easy Start to check for firmware updates.

Factory Reset (If Necessary)

  • If nothing works, reset the printer’s network settings:
    • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds until all lights flash.
    • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.
