Hi @Schneider1962,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That message means the printer’s wireless radio was disabled internally, often due to a network reset or firmware glitch. Here’s the recommended way to restore Wi-Fi on your Smart Tank 530:

Step 1: Restore Network Defaults

  1. On the printer control panel, press Settings (gear icon).
  2. Navigate to Network Settings → Restore Network Defaults.
  3. Confirm the reset. The printer will restart and clear old Wi-Fi settings.

Step 2: Enable Wireless

  • Press the Wireless button (or Wireless icon on the display) until the light starts blinking.
  • This puts the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode.

Step 3: Reconnect Using HP App

  1. Download HP app on your PC or mobile: 👉 HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
  2. Open the app → Add Printer → Follow the guided steps to connect to your Wi-Fi.
    • Make sure you use the 2.4 GHz band, not 5 GHz.

Step 4: Update Firmware

Install the latest firmware update to prevent this issue from recurring.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
