Hi @rrumley,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it can be when your printer suddenly stops working, especially when it was just printing fine a couple of days ago. Let’s walk through this together and get your HP ENVY Inspire 7958e back online.

Step 1: Power Reset Devices

  1. Turn off your printer, then unplug the power cable from both the printer and the wall.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Unplug your router for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
  4. Plug in and turn the printer back on after your network is back online.

A full power reset often re-establishes network sync between your printer and PC.

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue

  1. On your Windows 11 PC, press Windows key + R, type: services.msc and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down and right-click "Print Spooler" > Stop.
  3. Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete all files inside.
  4. Return to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler again, and select Start.

This will clear the stuck jobs and allow you to start fresh.

Step 3: Reconnect Printer via HP Smart App

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or install it from the Microsoft Store if you don’t have it.
  2. Tap the plus (+) sign to add or reconnect your printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to complete Wi-Fi setup again if needed.

Sometimes, a recent update or idle time can cause the printer to lose its IP address or Wi-Fi link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
