@00z, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
For the HP Laser MFP 139w, the Wi-Fi Direct password is typically found in one of the following places:
Printer Information Sheet:
- You can print a Network Configuration Page or Wi-Fi Direct Info Page from the printer. This usually contains the Wi-Fi Direct name (SSID) and password.
- To print this:
- Press and hold the Cancel and Wi-Fi buttons together for about 5 seconds (or until the printer prints a report).
HP Smart App:
- If your printer is already added to the HP Smart app, you can view or change the Wi-Fi Direct settings (including the password) from the app.
Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- If the printer is connected to a network, you can access its settings via a browser:
- Find the printer’s IP address (from the configuration page).
- Enter the IP in a browser to open the EWS.
- Navigate to Network > Wi-Fi Direct to view or change the password.
Default Password:
- If you haven’t changed it, try using the default password: 12345678.
- Some users report that the PIN shown on the label or info sheet is not the Wi-Fi Direct password.
If none of these work and the password is not visible in the cartridge area or on a label, resetting the network settings might help:
To Reset Network Settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button.
- While holding it, turn the printer back on.
- Keep holding until the Wi-Fi light blinks rapidly.
This will reset the Wi-Fi settings, including Wi-Fi Direct, and allow you to set it up again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
