No, the printer does is not aware of the content you are printing.
The printer keeps track of the mechanics - printer usage - numbers of pages and that sort of thing.
If the printer in on the network
If the feature is supported,
Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / configure your printer.
NOTE: Features vary by printer model.
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Tools > Reports > Usage Report
