Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Doing initial setup.  WiFi signal indicator is solid, all  bands lit.  When I order a print command on my Apple laptop, it shows "printer offline."  I have gone thru all the setup commands on both the laptop and the printer, no joy.  I did get a positive action on the print alignment page and the scan the print alignment page.

If you're experiencing issues with your HP Smart Tank 6001 All-In-One printer showing as "offline" on your MacOS 12.0 Monterey laptop, here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that both the printer and the laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Double-check the Wi-Fi password to make sure it's entered correctly.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off both the printer and your laptop.
  • Wait for a few minutes, and then power them back on.
  • Check if the issue persists.

Printer Software:

  • Make sure you have installed the latest printer drivers and software on your MacOS 12.0 Monterey. You can download the latest drivers from the HP official website.

Printer Online Status:

  • Open the "System Preferences" on your Mac.
  • Select "Printers & Scanners."
  • Right-click on your HP Smart Tank 6001 and ensure that the "Use Printer Offline" option is not checked. If it is, uncheck it.

Reset Printing System:

  • In "Printers & Scanners," right-click on the list of printers and choose "Reset printing system."
  • Note that this will remove all printers from your list, and you'll need to add them again.

Add the Printer Again:

  • After resetting the printing system, click the '+' button to add your HP Smart Tank 6001.
  • Select your printer from the list and add it.

Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the communication between the laptop and the printer. Temporarily disable them and check if the issue persists.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Smart Tank 6001. You can usually find this information on the HP support website.

HP Smart App:

  • Consider using the HP Smart app for MacOS. This app can help you manage your printer and troubleshoot issues.
