I have an ENVY Inspire 7955e printer. Previously, I was able to print wirelessly from my Windows 10 PC and also a Mac, but not anymore. No changes were made to my router's setup. Things that I've tried:
- went to Settings within Windows, Add a Printer or Scanner, then clicked on "The printer that I want isn't listed". After selecting "add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname", I entered my local IP address that I've set it up with on my router. My router's setup confirms that the printer IS connected. After a while of Windows trying to detect the TCP/IP port, it says additional port information is required.
- used HP Smart - on the home page, it has a button to "Add Printer". Clicking it will search, but will eventually say "No printers found". If I click "Add using IP address", I can enter it in, but still won't find it.
- unplugged the printer for a minute and restored the wireless settings to factory default.
Also, the blue wireless light on the printer is solid showing it as being connected and the wireless status on it shows that it's connected to the same WiFi network as my computer.
The funny thing is, the printer used to connect to my WiFi and I could print to it from BOTH a Windows PC and a MAC, but now it won't. So, that means that it's most likely a printer problem, right? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi @technomannt,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to print from windows and mac.
To assist better -
I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?
Is the printer connected to a home or public network?
Meanwhile, try the below suggestions -
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor specifically created to help with printer offline conditions.
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
- Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
- If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
- If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
- If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
Set a manual IP-
To set a manual IP and try the steps below -
--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP
--->then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply
--->go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply
--->Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
--->then go to settings on the main ews page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min
Connect the printer to TCP/IP port
--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address
a. Click Start/Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP Printer. Select Printer Properties. Select the Ports tab at the top.
b. Select Add Port. Select Standard TCP/IP Port. Select New Port.
c. Follow the Add Port Wizard. Under Printer Name or IP Address, . Example: 192.168.1.15. The IP address will be copied under Port Name.
d. Select Next and Finish the Wizard.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The printer and router and connected to my home network. It's a dual-band router, but the SSID that both the printer and computer are connected to are using 2.4 GHz. I checked and 5 GHz is turned off on the printer.
I tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor. After it opened, I selected the printer, hit Next, then after a minute or so of it trying to communicate with it, a message came up that said, "failed to communicate with your selected product". I tried all of the steps that it suggested. Then, if I select Retry, it'll go through the process of asking me to select a printer again, it tries to communicate and fails again. If I select Connect, then it brings up a message, "the selected product is not connected", and 3 buttons, one of which is for "Network-Wireless". I clicked that, it opened a message that said I'll need to run the "wireless setup" procedure. See the screenshots.
I've already tried to restore the wireless settings and reconnect to my WiFi, but that didn't help. I opened up a browser and put my printer's IP in there, but it didn't work. It was unable to reach it. See last screenshot.
You suggested connecting the printer to the TCP/IP port. I had to go to Settings, Printers & Scanners, select the printer, click Manage, Printer properties, Add Port, Standard TCP/IP Port, and THEN enter the IP address in. After doing all of that, I went to print a test page, but in the queue, it says, "Error - Printing".
What else do you suggest?
First page
Second page, after clicking Connect.
Third page, after selecting Network-Wireless.

To assist better -
- I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?
- What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?
- Is the printer connected to a home or public network?
Print and share the network configuration page -
1.From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, touch Wireless , and then touch Settings .
2. Touch Print Details or Print Network Configuration
Let me know!

For the SSID that I'm using, the router is set to 2.4 GHz. The status of the blue wireless light on the printer is steady. It's connected to a private home network. I tried to print the wireless summary using the touchscreen, but it gave me this error saying setup incomplete. I don't know why because the HP Smart App is already installed on my computer.
setup incomplete error
I have attached a screenshot of the wireless summary, though:

Let's restore the printer network settings and then reconnect the printer -
Connect the printer to the Wi-Fi network (printers with a touchscreen)
Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Place the printer near the network router.
Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.
From the Wireless or Setup
menu, select Network setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings.
Get the network name and password. Go to Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer for more information.
From the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard.
Select your network, and then enter the password.
NOTE:
If the Wireless Setup Wizard is not listed, select Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS, select Push Button, and then follow the steps to connect to the network.
Let me know how this goes!

I restored the network settings on the printer. I used the HP Smart App to search for it, but it failed as you can see in the first screenshot. However, after trying it a few times, I exited the search and see that the printer was added to the app. I noticed that I'm now able to go to the printer's IP address in the browser and brings up the Embedded Web Server. It shows options such as Home, Scan, Copy, Web Services, Network, Tools, and Settings.
search failed
I'm able to print a document from the Smart app. However, if I go to Settings within Windows, then Printers & scanners, and click "Add a printer or scanner", it still can't be found. Am I supposed to be able to find it this way? However, I select "the printer that I want wasn't listed", then I can select to add a printer using a TCP/IP address, enter in the IP address, and apparently it was found since it asks me which version of the driver that I want to use. Clicking Next will successfully add the printer.

@technomannt,
Thank you for your response, let's try to connect the printer using a TCP/IP port to your PC.
Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
1. Select “Start” and type “printers” in the search box.
2. Choose “Printers & scanners“.
3. elect “Add a printer or scanner“.
4. Wait for the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” option to appear, then select it.
5. Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.
6. select “TCP/IP Device” in the “Device type” list.
7. Type the hostname or the IP address of the printer. Select “Next“. To find the IP address of the printer, touch the Wi-Fi icon on the printer's control panel.
8. Windows should find the printer if the printer is on and configured correctly. You may have to specify more information. If prompted, Select the type of network adapter installed in the printer in the “Device Type” drop-down list. You can also click “Custom” to specify custom settings for the network printer. Select “Next“.
9. Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
