HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello !

Did a new install of my HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One printer/scanner and now wireless connection between computer and printer/scanner, embedded web services for the printer/scanner as well as the update-function via printers/scanners touch screen is not working. Clicking om the numbered link for embedded web services only generates a faulty message on HP webpage saying something like Service Unavailable - DNS failure or that the web page certificate is no longer valid. What's wrong? and how to fix it 🙂

Hi @Johan82,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Most of the web services connectivity issues can be resolved by updating the printer firmware, assigning a manual IP and Google DNS. Let's try these steps:

Download and install the latest printer firmware update from here. If the firmware is not available, either this printer is not compatible with your current OS, or drivers are not available currently.

You may try a driver update. Click here

Once done, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.

If you are still not able to enable web services, try the steps available here

Let me know how it goes!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello Elohi_NR

Many thanks for your reply. I'm a customer based in Sweden.

Unfortunately you had forgotten to include a link to update to latest firmware, please include this. Driver update for printer for for OS Windows 11 already done on May 9th 11 to no avail. Steps on YouTube video showing how to set manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer tested and I am still (as in May) unable to connect to http://192.168.1.68 only showing server unable to respond. I've already yet again to no avail tried to connect to same server with anti-virus and firewall deactivated. This webpage for Embedded Web Server used to work. As I was unable to reach the web services I (again, I've already tried this in May) I tried to open the webpage https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05337026 to follow alternative steps and yet again with same message today (on the 27th of June) as in May with default message saying "We're sorry. We can't seem to find the page you were looking for.Try going back to Support Home or use our Diagnostic Solutions to resolve your product issues." Printed HP Network Configuration Report says printer not connected to the internet and the only way to scan items is via USB-cable and not wireless and the same goes for printing. HP Smart app not surprisingly showing status printer is offline. Please may I ask HP to kindly reactivate the internetpage for the Embedded Web Server page, I'm guessing a change in DNS have been done within HP but this somehow have been forgotten to be customer communicated. / Johan

Hi again,

I forgot to mention that wireless light or icon is solid and blue thus indicating that the printer is connected to the network yet no manual update from the printer display menu on printer is possible, then only showing no internet connection, updateing the printer manually used to work fine before May. This means that it is not currently possible to follow steps for Can't connect an HP printer to Web Services on https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4152459-4016255-16. Furthermore there is software pieces missing on the computer when launching programme for HP Officejet Pro 8610 and I've done a new install three times.

Hello again !

Install of new driver didn´t go through, please advise 🙂

A driver was missing after installing the printer's latest update for OS 11 from https://support.hp.com/se-sv/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-8610-e-all-in-one-printer-series /5367603. Please provide additional information which driver is missing and how to search for it. Although the printer and computer can communicate with each other, it is not possible to update the printer from the display on the printer, although the printer update icon usually shows the status connected, sometimes it shows not connected and a yellow warning triangle. EWS is still not accessible on the web. So there is a driver missing, please contact me again. Thanks in advance for information and support 🙂
