Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Dell Precision
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The Envy 6020 datasheet specifies that it has a Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band) network card.

I am able to configure the printer on my 5Ghz only home network, I can print and scan normally UNTIL the printer goes to sleep or is power cycled - from that point on it is forever offline. I have been able to resolve the issue by configuring my local network to be dual-band and forcing the printer to 2.4GHz only, but I am confused as to why this should be necessary (and am not particularly keen on competing for SNR in the congested 2.4GHz band). Also, if 5GHz is truly not supported, it is unclear as to why I am able to get *some* functionality out of this configuration (or why there's even an option to use 5GHz in the EWS at all).

After a couple hours of debugging, here's the solution that worked for me:

  1. Factory reset
  2. Configured for 2.4GHz band only
  3. Disabled IP6 support
  4. Configured IP4 to static address
  5. Reserved IP4 address for printer's MAC on router

If you have not done so,

Consider

Name each bandwidth broadcast on the router with its own SSID network name.

Connect the printer to the particular SSID that you want it to use.

The printer might also benefit from having its own manual / static IP address.

Excellent.

Isolating the bandwidth and assigning a Static IP usually helps.

The extra step of adding the MAC address on the router further reduces the chance of issues later.

Happy Printing.

Stay Safe.
