Mac OSX 11.3.1
Envy 6055
Presently connected by USB.
Tried connecting with WiFi.
Won't scan except from HP Smart App. Won't print a full page in color (color photo). Printing stops after only a few passes. Sometimes stops entirely, sometimes pauses, won't print full photo except after several "Resumes" and several pieces of paper. There is no firmware after January 2021 and that firmware is installed on the printer.
Problem just started.
Have reset printers and scanners many times. Have installed many times. Seems USB is best connection, though not all functions work properly.

@fronw, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand the printer is not printing correctly.
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
Let us try these steps:
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Perform steps 1-7 from this document.
Use the HP uninstaller to remove all HP printer software from the mac
Install the printer using the AirPrint driver.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Select "Bonjour multifunction" under kind while installing.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
