I have new WiFi in the house and I'm finding it totally impossible to connect my printer to it. It genuinely sends me round and round in circles. Any help will be unbelievably appreciated! Starting to regret getting said printer

Hi @esmyth67,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that setting up a new WiFi connection for your HP Envy 6400 printer can be frustrating. Let's go through some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Ensure Printer and WiFi are On:
- Make sure your HP Envy 6400 printer is turned on.
- Ensure that your new WiFi network is active and that you know the SSID (network name) and password.
Connect Printer to WiFi:
- On the printer control panel, locate and press the Wireless icon or button.
- Select the "Setup" option or any option that allows you to configure the wireless settings.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your WiFi network and enter the password.
Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
- If your router supports WPS, you can press the WPS button on the router and then on the printer to establish a connection.
Printer Software Installation:
- Make sure you have the latest printer software installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers and software from the HP support website.
HP Smart App:
- Consider using the HP Smart app to set up and manage your printer. The app often simplifies the setup process.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to the network settings and reset the network configuration. Then, attempt to reconnect to your WiFi network.
Check Router Settings:
- Log in to your router's web interface and ensure that the wireless settings are configured correctly. Make sure the router is not blocking the printer.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there's a firmware update for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
