Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

Was printing just fine today. Printer is only 1 week old. Computer is only 1 week old.  All had been fine until today.  Went to print a page & saw a message on taskbar about printer being "offline".  Opened HPSmart & tried to print anything from there & it won't work.  Went to HP Support online & looked to see if there were drivers/fixes, etc needed to update & there were a couple listed, so I downloaded & installed those.  Restarted computer & printer printed the "test page" I'd asked it to do right before restart.  Tried to print something else & it won't do it.

Have Windows 11. Laptop is directly connected to printer via USB. Wifi light on printer shows connected.  Tried to print a doc from my phone using wifi & it only printed the last part of the last page. So it's not communicating real well via wifi either.

It's looking like I need to uninstall the whole thing & start over - right?  And if I do that, then I also need to reinstall the so-called updates I did today, correct?

I know I'm not the most tech savvy, but it sure seems that brand new products should operate smoothly for more than a week before deciding to just not work.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help.

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App from both your devices.

If the issue persists, try these steps on your Computer:

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

I did end up uninstalling & reinstalling the printer & its software. So far it has been working OK (but it hasn't been a week yet). I'm saving this info in case the issue arises again.

Thanks for the response.
