Find WPN PIN for Envy 7640

I'm trying to add my HP Envy 7640 printer to my new Dell with Windows 11 via wifi.  I'm using Control Panel>Devices and Printers>Add a printer.  The OS is prompting me for the WPS PIN for the printer and I can't locate that PIN.  It's not the PIN for the router.  The printer is already set up for wifi and I connected my Windows 7 laptop to the printer wirelessly earlier and that did not require a PIN for the printer.

How can I find the WPS PIN?

I resolved this issue but since this query received almost 50 views on the first day posted I'll share what I did in hopes it helps someone.

I loaded the HP Smart app on my iPhone.  The Envy 7640 was already set up on my network so I only needed to add the printer, I didn't need to set it up.  then I selected the printer by tapping , the only one in the list, on its image at the top of the home screen.  Then I scrolled down to Tools and selected Printer Reports and tapped the Print button.  This action from my smart phone sent an HP Network Configuration Page for  my printer to my printer.  It's a two page report.  At the bottom of the first page in a section named Wi-Fi Direct the report listed a passcode.  The passcode is an eight digit number that I think is the WPS PIN for the printer.

The thing is I didn't need the code.  After loading the app and performing the steps outlined above I went back on my new computer to add the printer.  This time the same process behaved differently.  I opened control panel> devices and printers>add a printer and this time the process did not prompt me for the printer's WPS PIN.

I'm still scratching my head a little but now I think I have the PIN, if I should ever need it, and I am printing wirelessly from the new computer and the USB cable for the printer goes to my box of old cables.

Your results may vary.  Who knows?  Maybe with the next Win 11 Service Pack MS will change this function of the OS.
