Hi @fatih1985,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand eprint is not working anymore.

Try the below suggestions -

Check the ePrint job requirements and settings

Make sure your printer can receive an ePrint job and the job meets the requirements.

Make sure Web Services is on.

Printers with touchscreens: Touch the HP ePrint icon , and then touch Settings. Or, navigate to the Web Services menu under Network Setup or Wireless Settings. If prompted, follow the instructions to turn on Web Services.

Printers without touchscreens: Print a network configuration or self-test page to obtain the printer IP address, and then enter it in a web browser address bar to open the Embedded Web Server. Click the Web Services tab to turn on the feature.

Make sure the email meets ePrint requirements.

Enter only the printer email address in the To field. Multiple email addresses might cause the ePrint job to fail.

Add text in the Subject field. A blank subject field might cause the ePrint job to fail.

Attach no more than 10 files. The total size of the email, including attachments, cannot exceed 10 MBs.

Example of an ePrint job email

Make sure the file attachment is compatible with HP ePrint.

Photos must be a GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, or TIFF file and have at least a resolution of 100 pixels.

Documents must be a PDF, HTML, TXT, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel file. Digitally signed, encrypted, or password protected documents are not supported.

By default, ePrint jobs print single-sided, and in the same color and orientation as the original. Documents print on either letter or A4 paper, and photos print on 101.6 mm x 152.4 mm (4 in x 6 in) paper.

Make sure the sending email address has permission to use your printer. Sign in to your HP Smart account. Under ePrint Access, select Open to Anyone so anyone can send ePrint jobs, or select Allowed, enter an email address, and then click Add.

Troubleshoot your printer connection

Identify and resolve printer connection issues.

Troubleshoot the wireless printer connection

Check network issues and setup requirements if the printer is not found during software installs or when wireless print jobs fail.

Poor network connection: Move the printer and computer or mobile device closer to the wireless router, and then check if the signal quality improved. Try opening a website to see if the internet connection is working properly. If Wi-Fi is slow or intermittent, restart the router by disconnecting the power cord, waiting 15 seconds, and then reconnecting the cord.

Printer is off or in sleep mode: Touch the control panel menu or press the Power button to wake the printer and put it in a ready state. Sometimes the printer status might display Offline when it is actually ready.

Check the printer connection status: Make sure the wireless signal is on, and the printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device. If your printer has a light next to a Wireless icon or button , make sure the light is on. If it is off or blinks the printer is disconnected from the network.

Reconnect the printer to the network: Place the printer within range of the Wi-Fi router signal, and then connect it to the network.

Printers with a touchscreen control panel: Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions to select the network name and enter the password.

Printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on the router until the connection process begins. The printer wireless light stops flashing when the connection completes.

HP Deskjet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Power button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the blue bar flashes. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins. The blue bar stops flashing when the connection completes.

Restart devices: Restart the printer and the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.

Print a Wireless Test Report: Search the HP Customer Support website for your printer model, and then search for self test page to find the document on how to print and evaluate the report.

Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

Hi @Jay_G24,

first of all many thanks for your response!

Unfortunately, I can't even get to those steps proposed by you. Let me explain quickly:

What is working:

- Printer is online, i.e. it is connected via wifi.

- Printing via HP Smart (when my mobile phone is connected to the same wifi).

What is not working:

- Printing via WEB from outside of my home, i.e. the eprint services.

- updating the printer (tried several approaches including setting back to factory settings, downloading the firmwares/drivers or updating directly via printer touchscreen)

- turning on the WEB services (either via printer touch screen or EWB screen, it fails to turn on the web services)

- generation of a mail adress for the printer

My printer model ist Officejet Pro 8600 (N911a).

I would appreciate any help that considers the unssuccessful steps I tried so far.

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

Fatih

Try the below suggestions to resolve the webservices issue -

Restart the computer, printer, and router

To resolve many connectivity issues, restart the computer, printer, and router.

NOTE:

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before you continue.

Turn off the router by pressing the power button or disconnecting the power cord.

Turn off the printer.

Close all running programs on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

Press the power button or reconnect the power cord to the router, and then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

Turn on the printer.

Turn on the computer.

Try to turn on Web Services.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Let's disable webservices and re-enable it

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address

--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP

---> click on webservices and remove webservices and re-enable it

If the issue persists,

Check the Internet proxy server settings

For networks that use proxy servers, update the Web Services settings in the printer EWS with the proxy information.

Locate the Internet proxy settings.

Windows: Search Windows for Internet, and then click Internet Options in the list of results. On the Internet Properties window, click the Connections tab, select your network, if necessary, and then click Settings.
The network settings menu displays with the proxy settings.
From the EWS, click the Web Services tab, and then click Proxy Settings.

Type the Address and Port values for your proxy server connection, and then click Apply.

Try to turn on Web Services.

Update the printer firmware

HP regularly releases printer updates. Updating the printer firmware might resolve the issue.

Let me know how this goes!

Hi @Jay_G24,

first of all many thanks for your response!

Unfortunately, all your proposed steps were either already tried by me without success or don't work.

Let me explain:

- Restarting the computer/printer/router: All these steps were done and it didn't help.

 - Disabling webservices and re-enableing it: This is actually my problem. As I said, this is exactyl my problem. Web services can't be enabled. I tried it multiple times. I get an error message.

- Proxy server settings: Not relevant in my case. I don't use a proxy server.

- Firmware update: As you can see it in the title of this support case. The printer can't be updated. It fails.

Hope you can provide a solution that works in my case. Many thanks in advance.

Best regards

Fatih

To assist better -

  • Is the printer connected to home or public network?
  • Could you print and share the wireless test report?

To print the wireless test page

1. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.

2. Touch Wireless, and then touch Print Wireless Network Test.

Let me know!

Hi Jay_G24,

the printer is connected to home network. Wireless printing at home works fine.

Please find attached the wireless test page. Unfortunately it is in German. If you need it translated, please let me know.

Many thanks,

Fatih
