Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Restart Your Computer
- Sometimes, a simple restart can clear temporary glitches or conflicts that are causing the app to hang.
2. Check for Updates
- Ensure both Windows 11 and the HP Smart app are fully updated. Here's how to check for updates:
- Windows 11:
- Open Settings > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
- HP Smart:
- Open Microsoft Store.
- Search for HP Smart and click on the Update button if an update is available.
- Windows 11:
3. Reset the HP Smart App
If the app has become corrupted, you can reset it without having to uninstall it:
- Open Settings on your PC.
- Go to Apps > Apps & features.
- Scroll down to HP Smart in the list of apps.
- Click on it, then click Advanced options.
- Scroll down and click Reset.
- This will reset the app to its default settings, which may fix the loading issue.
4. Reinstall HP Smart
If resetting doesn't help, try reinstalling the app:
- Open Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
- Find HP Smart, click on it, and select Uninstall.
- After uninstalling, go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall HP Smart.
5. Run Windows Troubleshooter
Windows has built-in troubleshooters that can automatically detect and fix issues related to apps or printing:

- Press Win + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter. This will reset the Microsoft Store cache.
7. Check Event Viewer for Errors
You can use the Event Viewer to check for any specific error messages related to HP Smart:
- Press Win + X, then select Event Viewer.
- Go to Windows Logs > Application and look for any recent errors that are related to HP Smart. These may provide more information about why the app isn’t launching.
