Sice buying this printer Ive had constant issues with it being "Off Line". Nothing sees to work for very long. It goes back on line for a few hours. Then when I log into my PC its "Off Line " again.
The "Off line " issue is very anoying and some thing ive never had problems with on any other printer.
The blue light flashes but does not connect to the Hub.
The WiFi Hub says ther printer is "Off Line"
Ive turned it off, then On with no Joy.
Ive pressed to small buttong ot the back to "Re-set" the conectivity with no joy.
Ive updated the softare with no joy.
Sorry HP but the Evnoy 6430e is not one of your best products.

@Micklosh, Thanks for getting back to us—and we're really sorry to hear this has been such a frustrating experience.
@Kuroi_Kenshi is away at the moment and I am happy to assist you.
You're absolutely right—the HP Smart app itself doesn't have a wireless icon to adjust Wi-Fi settings directly. What we meant was to use the printer's own touchscreen or control panel, not the app. Let’s walk you through the correct steps to get your printer back online:
Step 1: Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi via the Printer Panel
On your HP ENVY 6430e, do the following:
- Touch the small “i” button or the wireless button (depending on your model—it might be a small screen or set of light indicators).
- If there’s no screen, press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button together for about 5 seconds until the Power light blinks—this will restore the wireless settings.
- Now, press and hold the Wi-Fi button again (for 3 seconds) until it starts blinking.
- Go to your computer or mobile device, open the HP Smart app, and choose “+ Add Printer”.
- The printer should show up as “HP ENVY 6430e Setup”—select it and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.
Note: The blinking blue light on the printer means it’s not connected. A solid blue light means it’s successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: Make Sure It’s Not Stuck in “Use Printer Offline” Mode (Windows)
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP ENVY 6430e > See what’s printing.
- Click Printer in the top menu, and make sure “Use Printer Offline” is unchecked.
Step 3: Use the HP Smart App Again
Once the printer is reconnected, try printing from the HP Smart app again. If you don’t have it set up properly yet, you can download the HP Smart app here.
I hope this helps!
If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up” button to say thanks!
Take care and have a great day.

Hi @Micklosh,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, router, and computer. Wait for a minute, then turn them back on.
- Ensure your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure the printer's wireless light is solid blue, indicating it's connected to the network.
- If the Blue Wireless light is flashing:
- Go to the printer’s control panel, select the Wireless icon, and run the Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect to the network.
- Ensure there are no obstructions or interference between the printer and the router.
Printer Settings
Set Printer to Use DHCP:
- Open the printer’s embedded web server (EWS) by typing the printer's IP address into a web browser.
- Under the Networking section, make sure it is set to use DHCP instead of a static IP address.
Assign a Static IP:
- Sometimes assigning a static IP address helps maintain the connection:
- Go to the EWS, navigate to the Networking section, and set a static IP address outside your router’s DHCP range.
Update Printer Firmware:
Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Reinstall the printer drivers on your computer. Download the latest drivers from the HP Support Page.
Printer and Network Configuration
- On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing.
- Under Printer, ensure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.
Restart Print Spooler:
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Print Spooler in the list, right-click and select Restart.
HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool and follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix connectivity issues.
I hope this helps.

1. Where is the Printers IP address ?.
2. There is no "Setup Wizard" app with a HP ENVY 6403e.
3. The HP Firmware site is down and not working.
4. The HP Print and Scan Doctor freezes up before it is able to finish. Its done this now 4 times ??.
5. It seems to print okay when connected via USB. That was not the object of buying this printer. I needed a printer that could print from my Famileys mobiles.
6. I belive that it has been an issue since I installed the new EE/BT hub.
7 The Hub manager says the the HP ENVy printer is "Off-Line" depite using WPS buttons etc.
Very Disapointed.
