I received a new router today and I’ve tried every tip and fix to connect it to WiFi and I can’t get it to work with my IPhone or Desktop W11. The printer worked fine before this. My other printer the HP 507 had no setup or anything needed. Thank you.

I resolved it today on my own with the legendary fix of connecting the printer to my desktop via USB and doing the wireless installation that way. With that foundation, I was able to do the WPS connection to the router. I had ordered a new printer, which I now can return.

Zero help here which I sought of expected. I wasted hours on this and tried 10 different fixes. I can't figure why a printer that was working yesterday and now with an upgraded Xfinity router won't budge and do anything. With the option of paying HP $99 or more, I found a Brothers Laser for $98 brand new and I'll try that. I've had it with this one.

Hi @mikeypark,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It’s frustrating when a device suddenly stops working with a new router. Before giving up on your HP LaserJet Pro M102w, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Check Router Settings:
- Ensure the new router’s WiFi is set to 2.4 GHz, as many older printers do not support 5 GHz networks. If it’s a dual-band router, set up separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
- Verify the WiFi password is correctly entered during the setup.
Factory Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button simultaneously, then turn the printer back on.
- Release the buttons when the wireless light starts blinking.
Reconnect the Printer to WiFi:
- Using WPS:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking.
- Using HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your iPhone or Windows 11 desktop.
- Open the app, click on "Add Printer," and follow the steps to connect to the new WiFi.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Connect the printer to your computer via USB.
- Visit HP’s Support Website and download the latest firmware update for your printer.
- Install the update to improve connectivity and compatibility.
Re-add Printer to Devices:
- On Windows 11, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the existing instance of the HP LaserJet Pro M102w.
- Click "Add a Printer" and let the system search for the device on the network.
If the Above Doesn't Work:
Printer’s IP Address Conflict:
- Access your router settings via a web browser and check if the printer’s IP address is being assigned correctly.
- Reserve a static IP for the printer.
Reinstall Printer Software:
- Uninstall the printer driver and software completely from your computer.
- Download and install the latest drivers from HP’s support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
