Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hello:

Ive read several posts on here with similar issues and, while I love Bonjour as it has its perks, it appears they're all Mac-related. When I download the HP Smart utility and search for connected devices, it locates my printer reaching out to connect. However, when I put in my Wi-Fi password, it spins for about 30 seconds before saying that it was unable to connect. Even WPS fails, albeit it without an error.

Troubleshooting steps:

I connected directly to the printer's Wi-Fi radio and went to the gateway. I entered the PIN. I went to the 802.11 page and confirmed that the status was unconnected.

I went to the 802.11 > DNS page and set the DNS to 9.9.9.9 and 9.9.9.11 (Quad9) and hit 'Apply.' It said that the change was successful, but when I reload the page, it reverts back to assign automatically.

I went back to the 'Status' page and, oddly, noted that the network section had my correct Wi-Fi SSID on it, meaning that there's some inkling of connectivity there--like it was connected but didn't know it was connected.

I changed the Network ID to something simpler. And I confirmed that a new self-signed certificate issued. It did.

I went to the Advanced Configuration page and noted that Bonjour was on, that it was able to connect to 2.4 or 5Ghz band (it was set to connect to either/both, good), and I checked to make sure it was able to connect to at least WPA2 (it was set to 'WPA1 and WPA2,' don't know who still uses WPA1, but good enough), and I made sure SNMP was configured (it was).

I then went to the connection wizard on the gateway for the printer and attempted to connect to Wi-Fi from there. It did a search for access points, found mine, and I received an error that "the connection failed during the network connection test." It gave me an option to run the test again. It printed a page and passed. But when I went to the network connection status page again, it still said "unconnected."

In my router's gateway/admin tools, I made sure WPA2/WPA3-transitional was on (it was), I turned off protected management frames, and I tried separating the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. Nothing worked.
