My HP 2742e Printer was unplugged and internet service canceled while I was away for a couple of months.
I now have an internet service with Wi-Fi and a new network name and password. My printer will copy but not
connect to my router.

Hi @GoodKaren,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP 2742e printer needs to be reconnected to your new Wi-Fi network. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you with that.
- Prepare your printer: Make sure your printer is turned on and ready.
- Access the printer's control panel: Look for the control panel on your printer. It could be a touchscreen or a series of buttons. Navigate to the network settings menu. You may need to consult your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Once you're in the network settings menu, look for an option to connect to a wireless network. Select this option.
- Select your network: Your printer should now scan for available Wi-Fi networks. When it finds yours, select it from the list.
- Enter your network password: After selecting your network, you will likely be prompted to enter the password. Use the keypad on the printer's control panel to input your new network password.
- Confirm connection: Once you've entered the password, confirm your selection. The printer will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Check connection: After a few moments, your printer should indicate that it's successfully connected to the network. You may see a confirmation message on the control panel.
- Test the connection: Print a test page or try to print a document from your computer or mobile device to ensure that the printer is now connected to the Wi-Fi network and working correctly.
If you encounter any issues during this process, double-check that you've entered the correct network name (SSID) and password. Also, ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly and that other devices can connect to it without any problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
