I'm setting up my new HP 6001. The power cord will not plug into the back of the printer. I push it in as hard as I can and the cord falls right back out. What's up?

Thank you for your reply. After a closer examination of the end of the cable that plugs into the printer, I discovered that an inner copper part of the cord was bent inward, blocking me from plugging the cord into the printer. The harder I pushed the plug into the printer, the more the inner copper part bent inward, closing up the port for the pin to enter. To resolve this issue, I took a long, pointed metal pick I have in my toolbox, similar to an ice pick, only skinnier, and was able to insert the pick into the hole in the cord and spread the copper connector out and back in place. After that, I was able to plug the cord into the printer.
