I hate HP products. Every single time my employer forces me to use an HP product, it is such garbage that instead of helping me do my job, I have to fight it to do my job. I put up a fight when they try to force me to use HP products. I don't know how one company can make so many crappy products, but HP has managed to consistently sell products that are the worst in their class.
I found myself in need of a printer one day, and the only all in one I could find for sale was an HP Envy 6400, and against my better judgement, I bought it because I needed to print right then. This printer is just as crappy as every other HP product I have ever used. I only print things a few times a year, and on those rare occasions when I do try to use this printer, it takes an hour or two to get it to print. It will disconnect from WIFI for no reason, and stay disconnected for weeks at a time, then randomly reconnect to the WIFI. It has now been disconnected from WIFI for a month, and will not reconnect. What a piece of crap. It is my own fault, because I knew it was a typical worthless HP product when I bought it, but I thought maybe, just maybe, HP might be able to make one product that isn't absolute trash...but they could not. I have a printer that is nothing more than a decorative piece of plastic on my desk showing everyone who sees it why Hewlett Packard is a company that just needs to go out of business and spare everyone the frustration that comes with trying to use their products. I wouldn't even trust HP printer paper to work properly.
Do the world a favor HP, and just shut down your operations.

Hi @Chuckasaurus,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the frustration you're experiencing with your HP Envy 6400 printer's Wi-Fi connectivity issues. It's indeed frustrating when technology doesn't work as expected, especially when it's crucial for your work. While I can understand your frustration, I'll try to provide some troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the Wi-Fi connectivity problem:
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure that the Wi-Fi settings on your printer are correctly configured. You may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi network name and password if the printer has forgotten them.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy 6400 printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes address connectivity issues and improve overall performance. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY Pro 6400 All-in-One Printer series
- Router Placement: Ensure that your printer is located within a reasonable range of your Wi-Fi router. Signal strength can weaken if there are obstacles between the printer and the router.
- Check Router Settings: Make sure that your router settings are compatible with the printer's requirements. For example, some routers have compatibility issues with certain types of security protocols.
- Reset Network Settings: You can try resetting the network settings on your printer to default and then reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection from scratch.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
