Hi so my friend gave me her old printer because it was not working well for her so I thought I could get it to work but am failing as I have tried this for two months with less success, how do I get this old HP 6458 printer to work/connect to home wifi.
Thank you.

@Kossey, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question.
I'd be happy to help get your HP ENVY Inspire 6458e All-in-One Printer connected to your home Wi-Fi. Since you got it secondhand, it's best to start fresh with a full network reset and then reconnect it using HP Smart.
1. Turn on your printer and make sure it is in a ready state.
2. Restore Network Settings:
On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for at least three seconds.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi:
Using WPS: Press the WPS button on your router, then press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light starts blinking. Wait for the connection to establish.
Using HP Smart App: Download the HP Smart app on your device, open it, and follow the prompts to add your printer and connect it to your Wi-Fi network.
