HP OfficeJet 6950 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello :

I had to replace my old HP 6500  all-in-one by a new 6950 all-in-one.

technical installation as previously done .  everything is fine .

however , there seems to be a fax problem due to : "high frequency noise".

I seem to be not able sending faxes for that reason .

I am using DSL with a separate(!)  number for the fax machine.

any good ideas ?

W.

@winfried2, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

Check the connections. Make sure you are using a 2-wire cable. Connect both the ends firmly.

Go to Setup > Tools > Run fax test

Check the report for errors.

Go to Fax > Setup > Turn off error correction mode.

Send a fax to different number and check for the error.

  1. Send the test fax to 1-888-HPFaxme (1-888-473-2963 U.S.).

  2. Wait 5 to 7 minutes for the service to send a return fax.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
