HP HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Wireless Printer,
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, new out of the box. Was sailing through the set up and have run into this glitch which is really frustrating. Note that the printer is connected to my Wifi network with strong signal, and is printing wirelessly. But, it will not connect to web services (which I assume is what i need to get the instant ink thing). Used the setup and hit the snag where it tells he to do the ePrint option but that won't work because it won't connect to web services from the printer's control panel either. I get this message: the printer could not connect to web services the server might be busy or temporarily unavailable. Been trying to figure this out for 24 hours at this point. I've restarted everything (including my router). Ideas?

Hi,

From your computer, download and follow the HP Firmware Update Utility below and follow the steps to update the printer, once the update completes check for any difference:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-6970-all-in-one-printer-...

If the same persists, swipe down the top gray bar and click the Wireless icon, then click the gear icon and select Reports.

Click on Wireless Test Report and evaluate the printed report, may you see any attention or a warning on its header?
