@Friskie25, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It seems your HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer is experiencing connectivity issues with your new Xfinity XB8 router. The problem might be related to the changes in network settings when you installed the new router. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Restart Devices: Begin by restarting your printer, router, and any connected devices to clear any temporary issues.
Check Wireless Settings:
- Ensure that the wireless feature on your printer is activated. Look for a wireless icon or button on the printer and make sure it is illuminated.
- Make sure your router is broadcasting the correct network band (2.4 GHz) that your printer can connect to.
Printer's Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer's touch screen to select your network and enter the password.
- Navigate to the Setup menu > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to the network.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer, reset its network settings, if applicable, to clear any incorrect configurations. You can usually find this option in the network settings menu.
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
- If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on the router. On the printer, press and hold the wireless button for 3 seconds to initiate the connection process.
Use the HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer. The app can help set up and troubleshoot the printer.
- Using the app, restore Wi-Fi setup mode if the printer is not being detected.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, which might resolve connectivity issues.
