Hello,

HP 9120e setup wirelessly on network.  Has been working, but now shows offline.  Have unplugged the printer and the router.  All devices are on same network.  All rebooted fine but printer is still offline.

Your help would be appreciated,

Jeff

Hi @Jefe5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 9120e printer, previously working on your wireless network, is now showing offline even though all devices are on the same network and you’ve restarted both printer and router. Let’s go through steps to resolve this.

Check the printer’s network connection

On the printer control panel, print a Network Configuration Page.

Ensure the printer has a valid IP address and is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Confirm IP address is stable

If your router assigns dynamic IPs, the printer’s IP may have changed.

Either set a static IP on the printer or reserve the IP in your router settings.

Ping the printer

On your computer, open Command Prompt and run ping [printer IP].

If there’s no reply, the printer is not communicating with the network.

Set printer to online manually (Windows)

Open Devices & Printers, right-click the HP 9120e → See what’s printing → Printer menu → Use Printer Online.

Remove and re-add the printer

Delete the printer from Devices & Printers or HP Smart app.

Re-add it using “Add a printer using TCP/IP or network” and enter the printer’s IP if needed.

Check firewall / security software

Some firewalls or security programs block printer communication.

Temporarily disable the firewall and test printing.

Update printer firmware

Use HP Smart or the printer control panel to check for firmware updates.

Outdated firmware can cause network connectivity issues.

Restart router again

Sometimes network caches hold old IP mappings; power cycling the router after printer IP is set can help.

I hope this helps.
