I found the resolution to the issue of failing network scan tests for the HP Color LaserJet MFP 283fdw. I tried to post a reply to the original post for which I had the same question but was unable to reply. The original post by Ema82 can be found here

I was able to access the share on other windows PCs but not through the printer's web interface. The test would continually fail. I had to enable SMB 2.0 on the scan destination system in order for the network scan connection tests and scans to succeed. I have read that printers with older firmware versions need SMB 1 enabled (not verified).

 

I have seen other posts that claim that the network scan function stopped working abruptly after working previously. I would recommend checking the SMB status of the scan destination system. Windows has released updates that disable older versions of SMB.
