For three days now, I have been trying to get my printer to connect to the internet. Yesterday, I called in and a representative from the service provider I use split my internet connection into 2G and 5G, as my printer requires 2G to function. She stayed on the phone and instructed me as best she could, but the printer still refused to work. My husband resorted to purchasing another printer last night, not an HP one. Despite all that, I woke this morning to attempt to fix the problem. What is currently happening is that "ALL" lights ARE BLINKING. I have powered off, restarted, and unplugged, but the issue persists.... And yes, I have done several troubleshooting. The diagnosis? No problem has been found with the printer... Rolling eyes. I'm so tired of this and didn't want to have to buy another printer, especially since I purchased this one earlier this year. Does anyone know what's happening?

Hi @Dora_B7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP DeskJet 2800e All-in-One printer. When all the lights on the printer are blinking simultaneously, it typically indicates a critical error. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. HP DeskJet 2800, 4200, 4900 Printers – Blinking Lights and Error Codes
This page explains what each blinking light pattern means and what actions to take:
🔗 HP DeskJet 2800, 4200, 4900 Printers - Blinking lights and error codes | HP® Support
Look for the section that matches your printer's light pattern (e.g., all lights blinking, or specific icons like “E” or ink).
Steps to Try (Based on HP Guidance)
- Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
If your printer is stuck trying to connect to the wrong network, reset the Wi-Fi setup mode:- Press and hold the Cancel and Wi-Fi buttons together for 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
- Then try reconnecting using the HP Smart app.
- Use HP Smart App (Windows)
This tool can automatically diagnose and fix many issues:
🔗 HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
- Check for Ink Cartridge Issues
Even if the ink seems fine, a faulty cartridge can cause blinking lights. Try:- Removing both cartridges.
- Power cycling the printer.
- Reinstalling cartridges one at a time.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
