Hi. Can someone possibly help out with an issue I am having with my HP Deskjet 4310e. I've completed the set up and connected to my WIFI router and done all the aligning etc....
Gone to print some bits, all worked fine, but then after printing 4 or 5 pages it just stops printing. Then 5-10 mins later it might resume printing again or will print blank pages. if I close the HP Smart app on my phone, or restart the app or refresh the app it might start printing again but sometimes not. I've switched it off at plug, turned the appliance on and off, disconnected and reconnected to WIFI, uninstall the app and redownloaded it.....I feel like I've tried everything but I cannot get it to print more than 4 or 5 pages before it gives up! This is the 2nd printer I've had in 2 weeks which has done exactly the same thing (I sent the 1st one back thinking it was faulty!).
Any advice on what I could be doing wrong lol. Thanks 😊

Welcome to the HP Community --

Connection
If other likely causes have been checked / eliminated, check the network connection between the device (your phone), the printer, and your network router.
For example,
The device, the printer, and the router should be using the same network.
For example, if you have not done so, switch your phone from your Data line to your Wireless at your home / office.
This printer supports either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, though not at the same time.
If you are running a dual band network, check the SSID named network configuration / setup
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Network > Wireless (802.11) > IPv4 Configuration
As Available:
Tab Network > Wireless (802.11) > Advanced
Network Interface on / off, Network SSID name, Security Settings, Passphrase / Password
In Advanced
Select and connect to the correct SSID / network name for the bandwidth you are using.

Dual Band Network
If your router supports it,
Create a separate SSID named network for each frequency (5GHz and 2.4GHz).
Connect the printer to the SSID network on the frequency / band you want it to use.
Reminder: Some printers only support 2.4GHz
In general,
- 2.4GHz is less fussy about obstacles and supports a longer distance between router and device (printer)
- 5GHz is faster

Job Configuration
Unlikely to have been missed for this long -- If you have not done so,
Try / Consider
- Try some different paper -- yes, the paper you use, even if it is the correct size and type, can impact the outcome. Reference:
Paper too dry / too damp / not flat / damaged / incorrectly stored / “old”
HP Printers - How to Store and Handle Paper to Avoid Paper Jams
- Check the Tray and Paper Settings in EWS - unlikely "wrong" but worth a look
EWS > HP Document / How-to
Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
EWS – Browser – Tray and Paper Management
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)
Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type
Model Dependent: Advanced section
Click Apply to save changes
- Check the document(s) -- Format impacts performance. Printing from your phone perhaps means you are using HP Smart and that the document format is already PDF. If you have the option, recreate the PDF formatted file from the original document (for example, Pages or Word).
