My modem was replaced. Ever since then, I am not able to connect wireless with the Printer. When I go to Wireless Setup, find the network, I type in the password... it spins and spins and then asks to retry.
I printed a Wireless Network Test Results. It says: Your HP Printer is unable to connect to your wireless router. MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router which can prevent your HP printer from connecting to your wireless network during setup.
I am not able to access my wireless router to adjust of allow the MAC address.
PLEASE help! I will take any suggestions!

@Aimee1973, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you replace a modem/router, the printer often can't reconnect without a proper reset and reconfiguration. Here's a step-by-step guide to get your HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One printer reconnected to Wi-Fi:
Reset the Printer’s Network Settings
- This clears any saved Wi-Fi networks:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
- Confirm the reset. The printer will now forget all previous network info.
Reconnect the Printer Using Wireless Setup Wizard
- Go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Let it search for networks.
- Select your new Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
- Enter the correct Wi-Fi password carefully (case-sensitive).
- If it fails again: Continue to next step.
MAC Address Filtering on Your Router
If your printer's test page mentions MAC filtering, it means your router may be blocking unknown devices by default. Since you can't access your router:
➤ Option 1: Use WPS Setup (If Your Router Supports It)
- On your router, press the WPS button (usually for 3–5 seconds).
- Within 2 minutes, on your printer, go to Setup > Network > Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) > Push Button.
- The printer should connect without needing a password.
➤ Option 2: Temporarily Share a Hotspot from Your Phone
- On your smartphone, create a Wi-Fi hotspot using your old network name and password (same SSID and password as before router replacement).
- Connect the printer using Wireless Setup Wizard.
- If it connects successfully, that confirms the issue is with the new router's settings.
Optional Fix: Use USB Setup to Reconnect Wirelessly
If all else fails:
- Connect the printer to your PC using a USB cable.
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor or HP Easy Start from HP website.
- Follow the instructions — it can push your new Wi-Fi settings to the printer over USB.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
