Hi @Doug4830,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP ENVY 5530 not connecting to new T Mobile wireless router!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Everything
- Restart your printer – Turn it off, unplug it for 60 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart your router – Unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Restart your computer or any device trying to connect to the printer.
Check Wi-Fi Network Settings
- Ensure your router is using 2.4GHz – The HP ENVY 5530 only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz.
- Log into your router settings (via a web browser, usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
- Check if 2.4GHz is enabled.
- If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one network (same SSID), try separating them in the settings.
Manually Connect the Printer
- On the printer touchscreen → Go to Setup > Wireless > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
- Enter the Wi-Fi password correctly (case-sensitive).
- If it still won't connect, try manually entering your network:
- Choose Enter Network Name Manually in Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Type the exact SSID (Wi-Fi name) and password.

Reset Network Settings on Printer
- On the printer, go to Setup > Tools > Restore Network Defaults.
- Try Wireless Setup Wizard again.
Check Router Security Settings
- Log into your router settings.
- Disable WPA3 security (HP ENVY 5530 may not support it).
- Ensure your Wi-Fi security is WPA2 (AES).
- If MAC Address Filtering is ON, add your printer's MAC address to the allowed list.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run it and follow the instructions to fix connection issues.
Assign a Static IP Address (If Needed)
- Print a Network Configuration Page from your printer’s Tools menu.
- Find the printer’s current IP address (if available).
- Open your router settings and assign a static IP to your printer.
Connect via USB or Wi-Fi Direct
- If Wi-Fi still doesn’t work, try USB connection or use Wi-Fi Direct:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Wireless > Wi-Fi Direct.
- Connect your device to the Wi-Fi Direct network and print.
Try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance! 😊
