HI,
Since (perhaps) the last Windows 11 update from early December 2022, my HP ENVY 5540 printer only prints in grayscale.
No problem before this date.
In addition, if I consult the properties of the printer before printing, Tab "Paper / Quality" the choice "Grayscale or Color" has disappeared.
This printer is networked with another computer under Windows 10. From this one no problem printing. So the printer is off.
I installed the latest driver offered by HP (HP-DQEX5.exe version 40.15.1230). Weird installation because no information at the end of execution…
I ran SCAN-DOCTOR version 5.7.1. Everything is OK . Except that when printing the test page, everything is in grayscale.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your reply.
I would like to emphasize that my printer is networked and prints fine in color from another computer running Windows 10.
The problem is therefore on its Windows 11 driver.
Also note that scanning works very well on both computers (and in color).
I have already removed and then reinstalled this printer.
Without effect.
I found this information on HP ENVY 5540 series properties, “Events” tab
“Device SWD\PRINTENUM\WSD-c700522a-ba26-4c30-aa7a-cf871753caab requires installation to continue.

Is it important ?
What to do ?
Thanks again

Hello,
Here is the solution applied on my computer. It works.
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer.
If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Remove all instances of the same.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
Restart the PC again.
Then, install the latest driver offered by HP :
