Hi @PamelaRae4JC,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your device fails to connect to a new WiFi network but was able to connect to the previous one, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

  • Restart Your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix connectivity issues. Turn off your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Forget the Old Network: Your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series might be trying to connect to the old Spectrum WiFi network automatically. Go to the WiFi settings on your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series, forget the old network, and then try reconnecting to the new Spectrum WiFi network.
  • Check WiFi Settings: Make sure that your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series is within range of the new Spectrum WiFi network and that WiFi is turned on. Also, ensure that the SSID (network name) and password are correctly entered when trying to connect to the new network.
  • Reset Network Settings: Resetting the network settings on your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. Go to the network settings and look for an option to reset network settings.
  • Update WiFi Drivers: Ensure that the WiFi drivers on your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series are up to date. You can check for updates in the Device Manager or download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Restart the Spectrum WiFi Router/Modem: Sometimes, the issue might be with the Spectrum WiFi router/modem itself. Try restarting it by unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a few seconds, and then plugging it back in.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the connectivity issue between your HP ENVY Inspire 7900 Series and the new Spectrum WiFi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
