Hello HP Printer Community! I just moved, and just installed a new XI Xfinity Gateway. The problem is that my HP Envy 5530, will not connect to Wifi. My 5530 Does Find my new Wifi network name, but after several attempts of using the Setup Wizard and manually imputing my Wifi Password as well as depressing the WPS button on the X1 gateway, my 5530 will not connect to my network. I did follow all troubleshooting steps.
All other devices (Laptop, Cell phones) connect perfectly fine! Is this Printer too old to connect via the New Xfinity X! Gateway?
Thanks!

Update from me, the original poster: I thought maybe, that my 5530 was to old for the X1 Gateway, so I disabled the 5GHz and 6GHz in my gateway config WIFI settings, but my 5530 will still not connect. (I re-enabled these) However, I was able to add my 5530 as a WIFI option on my iPhone 15, and I am able to print a document from my phone. Weird. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks!

@Rgib1, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, so I understand your frustration. The fact that your HP Envy 5530 connects to your iPhone but not directly to the Xfinity X1 Gateway suggests that there might be a couple of potential issues we can focus on:
Wi-Fi Frequency Bands:
While you’ve already tried disabling the 5GHz band, it’s worth rechecking the settings. The HP Envy 5530 typically works best with the 2.4GHz band, as older printers tend to have compatibility issues with 5GHz networks.
Make sure your Xfinity Gateway is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network (and that it’s visible). You can try setting up a dedicated 2.4GHz network on the Xfinity Gateway and connect the printer to that.
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
Router Settings:
Sometimes routers implement specific settings that could prevent the printer from connecting, like MAC filtering or security protocols.
Also, refer to this guide: Troubleshoot a Wi-Fi connection to an HP printer | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
