I recently purchased an HP Envy 5530 printer off of Facebook Marketplace and it looks like it's still attached the previous owner's HP account. I am trying to set up the printer so I can print wirelessly, but when I try to set up ePrint I get the "problem adding printer" page. A "print info page" never prints. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

@pkuiawa, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let us try these steps:

  1. Make sure the printer is connected to the internet

  2. Obtain the IP address from the wireless icon on the printer screen

  3. Type in the IP address in the web browser to access the EWS page of the printer.

  4. From the printer website, find the Web Services menu, and then click Print Info Page or Print Information Sheet.

  5. Find the Printer Code or Printer Claim Code on the page that prints.

    If the information page only has the printer's email address, remove and then re-enable Web Services. A new information page prints with the Claim Code.

  6. Add your printer to an HP Smart account using the Printer Claim Code.

    If an Invalid Claim Code or other error message displays, remove and then re-enable Web Services before trying again.

You must claim your printer to use web-connected printing services like HP ePrint, HP Instant Ink, and other cartridge replenishment programs. If you have trouble claiming your printer, see the solutions listed in this document - Having Trouble Claiming Your Printer?

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @Kumar0307,

Thank you for your help. I have connected my printer to the internet and have found the IP address, but I'm not sure what you mean by "type it in the web browser." What web browser? When I press the ePrint button to enable and set up web services, it says "server connection error." I have pressed "retry" several times and nothing ever happens. A print info page never prints, so I'm never able to get the claim code. I'm trying to add the printer on my computer through HP Smart and it won't let me continue without the claim code. I've looked through the "Having Trouble Claiming Your Printer?" document and unfortunately didn't find any helpful answers.

@pkuiawa

The claim code can be obtained through the printer's EWS page. Web browser is Google Chrome/Firefox.

Type-in the IP address of the printer in the top address bar and click on go/enter.

Follow the steps provided in my previous post to know how to print the information page.

Let me know how this goes.
