Hi @julie1966,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

The HP ENVY 6055 printer is not compatible with 6 GHz Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6E). It is only compatible with 2.4 GHz networks. Wi-Fi 6 and 6E technologies introduced new bands, but the HP ENVY 6055 does not support these newer bands.

Here’s what you can do to get your HP ENVY 6055 connected again:

1. Connect to a 2.4 GHz Network:

  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network, which is compatible with your printer.
  • Most modern routers that support Wi-Fi 6 or 6E also offer dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) support. You need to enable the 2.4 GHz band in your router settings.

2. Separate Network Bands:

  • If your router combines both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands under a single network name (SSID), this can cause connection issues.
  • Log in to your router’s settings and separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands into different SSIDs, or ensure the 2.4 GHz network is distinctly named so you can select it for the printer.

3. Reconnect the Printer:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer to connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz network.
  • On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button (or Wi-Fi Direct button) until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking, which puts the printer in setup mode.
  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone, and follow the prompts to add the printer and connect it to the 2.4 GHz network.

4. Check Compatibility Settings:

  • Some routers allow compatibility mode settings for older devices. Make sure the compatibility mode is enabled if available, as it helps connect devices that do not support Wi-Fi 6 or 6E.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
