Common problems for Connectivity Issues

This solution didn't work for me.

Everytime I try to print something from any device in the house, I am told that the printer is not connected to the network, even though the wifi light is on.  I have gone through several different processes to reconnect the printer, but the only thing that usually works is to reinstall the printer on hp smart, which is time-consuming and annoying.  No one else in the house has been able to print anything.

Then, the printer ran out of the color ink.  I installed the new ink cartridge that was sent to me by HP ink, and now nothing works, including the control panel.  I put the old cartridge back in so that I could print the Network Configuration Page, but because it's low on ink, I still can't print anything.

I had to hire an IT person and it took him 2 hours to fix the problem!  Ridiculous.  That bill made the price of this printer quite unreasonable.  If you still have your receipt, you'd be better off returning it and buying something else.  QUIT PRETENDING THERE ARE NO PROBLEM WITH THIS PRINTER THAT THE USER CAN EASILY FIX THEM, HP.  YOU FIX THEM.

That this "Solution" is rated as an accepted solution is ridiculous.

How can I assign a static ip address to a printer on a home wireless network when the router receives a random IP address from the internet provider every single time power is interrupted for any reason; this means every time there is an interruption in power supply I would have to manual reconfigure the printer?

Try to keep in mind people at home are not sitting on redundant servers with backup power supplies on dedicated IP addresses.

You're spot on, Fogshat!  My company actually hired an IT guy to do all that, and after a few weeks, the printer went offline yet again.  Ridiculous.  The only solution is to return the printer while you still can, or go buy a cable.  HP needs to own up to the flaws in this product and make it right for all the people who have purchased their faulty printer.

I will never ever buy another HP Printer.  This printer's warranty just expired a couple of weeks ago.  For the first 6 months or so it worked fine.  And then it began... the message would flash that there was a printer error because the printer was "offline". .I also had to remove the plug and plug it back in to get it to work.  Now that doesn't even do the trick.  And, I have tried the stupid HP Support Assistant.  Nothing works.  I have tried everything...rebooting the router, rebooting the computer, rebooting the printer.  Perhaps HP needs to develop an updated driver for this thing.  Talk about planned obselescence and more contributions to the electronic waste.  This printer replaced another HP printer that also quit printing.  I am disgusted.  And, of course, there does not seem to be a way to reach a real person on a phone that might help with this problem.  .

The wifi light on the front panel does not light up and I'm no longer connected to wifi.  What do I do to resolve?
