This fairly new printer works great--most of the time. But maybe twice a week, it stops: Blue Wi-Fi light is on, the edge lighting/light bar glows steady light blue in the center, but that's all. The usual lights for copying and info are off. The Windows print queue says unknown error. HP Smart says printer offline. Webpage (10.0.0.243 in my case) "can't be reached." The on-off button on the back is unresponsive (that is, I can't turn it off). The only fix is to unplug it and plug it back in, which always fixes it. Annoying, but at least I can print after unplugging it.
Why does this happen? How can I prevent it from happening?

@radiodave2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 6075 Unresponsive!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP Envy 6075 is experiencing connectivity issues. Here are a few steps to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Soft Reset the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it back on.
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
- Check if other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network to rule out network issues.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router.
Verify Printer Status:
- Make sure that the Wi-Fi settings on the printer are correct. You might need to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network. This can be done via the HP Smart app or through the printer’s control panel.
Restore Network Settings to Default:
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the back of the printer for at least three seconds to restore network settings to default. This will put the printer back into the Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) setup mode.
- Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that the printer firmware is up-to-date. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP Support website to check for and install firmware updates.
Check Printer’s Static IP:
- If using a static IP address (10.0.0.243), ensure it’s correctly set up and not conflicting with other devices on the network.
Use a USB Connection:
- As a temporary workaround to ensure you can print, connect the printer directly to your computer using a USB cable
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
