So, I'm having a hard time figuring this issue out.
I have a HP Envy Photo 6255 that has been on the home wifi network for over 5 years. in the last month, it has disconnected from the network, and will not connect, even when the correct wifi password is entered.
It returns the error that the network password is incorrect, but I have verified that I am using the correct password for the network in the network management app.
It's almost like the wifi radio has stopped working, but I think that if that was the case, I would be seeing some other error message on the printer screen.
I have als reset the printer back to factory defaults, in case some other configuration setting might have been causing a problem, but the printer still will not connect to the wifi network.
The printer is in the same room as the primary wifi node, so distance is not an issue, nor is there anything between the printer and the wifi node.

The 6255 can operate in the 2.4 and the 5ghz band. I suspect the problem is the SSID of both bands is the same and the printer can't remember which band to use when it wakes up from sleep.
Try a different band. You will have to log into the modem and rename one of the bands.
Once you reset the printer it is in setup mode for 2 hours as I recall.
If you are comfortable with programming the modem, locate the printer in the modem and assign the IP4 address as fixed. When it wakes up from sleep it will get the exact same IP address. A network or status printout will provide the MAC address and you lookup that address in the modem is another way.

Hi, Beemer. Thanks for the reply.
Is this a recent thing, because I've had this printer for years, using the same SSID for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi bands, and it's been connecting just fine. I had it set to a static Ip, to, so we didn't have to keep reconfiguring the port on the computers when the IP changed. it just seems odd that after so long of just running like a Timex watch, *suddenly* the printer can't connect to the wifi network any more.
it keeps telling me the wifi password is incorrect if I try and enter it, and trying to use WPS setup throws an equally unhelpful "there was a problem performing the setup" message.
I just want to make sure I exhaust all my other options before I have to go reconfiguring my home wifi network.
