HP Envy 7640 connecting to Mobile Hotspot

I recently moved into a condo that utilized a community network. I have been able to connect the printer to the WIFI so I can print however the printer will no communicate with HP. I assume this is some sort of configuration on the network that I have no control over. The issue is at some point I am afraid the printer will stop working if HP can't read the pages printed and the ink status. My thought is to connect it to my phones mobile hotspot every  so often. I have searched and seen many suggestions but the printer will not show my mobile hotspot as an option. The phone is an iPhone 13 Pro. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP support community.

It is not recommended to connect the printer to a public network or to a mobile hotspot.

HP printers might not work on those networks.

You can connect the printer and mobile phone using printers WiFi direct.

But does this method allow the printer to talk to hp so I will no longer receive the errors on the printer telling me to connect to HP Direct?

This method will allow only to connect the printer and mobile device.

It will not connect to the HP server.

So what do I do cancel my subscription for ink? If so can I continue to use the cartridge I have in the printer or will it stop working.
