HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

HP Envy 7858 disconnected from Wi-Fi (again!) but now is stuck on first loading screen. I tried reboot directions from this forum but that did not work. IMG_0302.jpeg

Hi @Ebees,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 7858 printer is stuck on the loading screen and rebooting didn't resolve the issue, you can try the following additional troubleshooting steps:

1. Power Cycle the Printer:

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and wait for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back in.
  4. Turn on the printer and check if it gets past the loading screen.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the power button on the printer for about 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer and check if it boots up properly.

3. Update Firmware (if possible):

  1. If your printer manages to boot up, check if there are any firmware updates available.
  2. Access the printer's settings menu or use the HP Smart app to check for updates.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

4. Check for Hardware Issues:

  1. Inspect the printer for any visible signs of damage or obstruction, such as paper jams or loose components.
  2. Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and that there are no error messages related to ink levels or cartridges

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response but the issue is not resolved.

There is no apparent damage to the printer. It has not been moved or anything like that to cause physical damage. I previously checked, removed, and reinstalled the ink cartridges and all connections when following other solutions offered on this site.

The solutions offered in your response do not work because the power button is unresponsive. Pressing it for a short time or even holding for a lengthy time does nothing.

Because I can’t get past the loading screen I can’t check for firmware updates.
